It is not uncommon for people struggling with addiction to have some type of past trauma.
Trauma is typically what contributes to the destructive behaviors that lead a client to treatment. Whether the trauma is a one-time event or a reoccurring complex problem like enmeshment, abuse, neglect, or abandonment it oftentimes fosters maladaptive coping skills. Those who have experienced trauma will use unhealthy ways to “protect themselves” from experiencing emotional or physical pain.
In the safety of our homes, our skilled treatment teams will help the client work through their past trauma that has the ability to manifest into self-destructive behaviors, gain new insights into the way they function on a day to day basis, restore hope, and uncover and embrace their genuine selves.
Our treatment team is trained in helping our client overcome the challenges of post-traumatic stress disorder, complex trauma, rape trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic disorder.
